why did i create fishscape?

ive always been interested in the early web, as someone who was born in the early 2000s i never really got to experience the netscape or early internet explorer/firefox era. i have many memories with windows 7 and sometimes vista in the early 2010s as i was given a computer early on when i found out minecraft existed. i would play games like sushi cat, webkinz, fancy pants, moshimonsters, wizard101, and counterless other games that have genuinely fascinated me throughout my entire childhood. i still have this fascination and im so glad i found out neocities existed as ive been browing the internet archive for geocities for references. i always liked how barebones these websites were and wanted to create my own. so i created fishscape!!

what is the goal of fishscape?

fishscape is an interactive project/archive of my life as a creator and person going through college and life in general, and i want something to look back on or just have to prove my existence.

ive always liked the idea of a lifetime project or something tangible i can put my thoughts and ideas on and look and interact with it in the future. i used to write myself little notes on my phone for my future self since 2021 and every year or so i would update it about my life. i like to see my progress as an artist, student, and person and fishscape allows me to do that.

as fishscape grows in age so shall everything on this website. there will be more pages, more updates, more of 'everything' -- if you will. i dont really have an end goal for this website. all i know is that the main page will be worked on the most and will have the most shit out of the rest of the website LOL (or atleast, thats the plan :p)
